Health Visiting

Welcome to Solihull Health Visiting Service

The Solihull Health Visiting Service is offered to every family, starting from pregnancy until your child starts school. The team includes health visitors, community nursery nurses, and infant feeding specialists. We also work in partnership with other services.

Health Visitors are specialist community public health nurses who are also trained nurses or midwives. Our role is to offer every family the Government’s Healthy Child Programme which focuses on a universal preventative service, providing children with a programme of screening, immunisation, health and development reviews.  We also provide advice and support for the whole family on health, wellbeing and parenting.

During the first 5 years of your child’s life, we will offer your child appointments which are an opportunity for you to discuss their developmental progress and any other issues within the family so please ask us for information or support as required.
