Back to School: Keeping Children Happy, Healthy and Ready to Learn
As the new term begins, our School Nursing Team is working closely with schools across Solihull to help children and young people stay healthy, confident, and ready to learn.
The team delivers the Healthy Child Programme (5–19), offering health reviews, immunisations, and wellbeing support throughout a child’s school years. We work with teachers, parents, and local partners to provide advice on sleep, nutrition, emotional wellbeing, and managing long-term conditions in school.
Our School Nurses also deliver targeted interventions, supporting pupils who may be struggling with anxiety, body image, or self-esteem. We aim to ensure that every child has access to the help they need — early and in a safe, supportive environment.
Families can explore these helpful resources for extra guidance:
- NHS – Healthier Together
- NHS – Vaccinations and when to have them
- The Sleep Charity – Children’s Sleep Advice
“Our goal is to help every child thrive — not just academically, but emotionally and socially.”
